The Paralympic
Sports Center
At ADI Negev, we don't treat sport as a break from rehabilitation. We treat it as part of the treatment.
A patient who picks up a bow at our archery range is working on balance, spatial awareness, and focus, the same skills their physiotherapist is targeting down the hall. A patient on the basketball court is rebuilding upper body strength and coordination, one fast break at a time.
The clinical goals are real. They just don’t feel clinical when you’re chasing a win.
That’s the idea behind our Paralympic Sports Center: rehabilitation that patients actually look forward to.
Five sports, one goal
Our program currently runs five adaptive sports, each suited to different abilities and each doing real rehabilitative work:
Wheelchair Basketball
Our most popular program and the heart of a growing community. The team trains twice a week and competes regularly in Israel’s national league, with home games at ADI Negev.
Boccia
A precision-based tactical sport for athletes with limited hand mobility, strengthening focus, hand-eye coordination, and friendships.
Table Tennis
Fast, competitive, and therapeutic. Patients compete by classification against athletes with comparable abilities.
Archery
One of Israel’s fastest-growing adaptive sports, helping build posture, balance, and concentration.
Judo
Designed for athletes with visual impairments or on the autism spectrum, building strength, stability, and confidence.
A championship, and a growing program
Our wheelchair basketball team recently won the national championship, a proud moment for the athletes and coaches who put in the work, and a reflection of what this program has become: not just a rehabilitation service, but a real competitive team that patients are proud to represent.
And we’re continuing to grow. A new handcycling track is set to launch soon, giving patients another way to build strength and independence on their own terms, and another reason to believe there is always another level to reach.
