Speech, Language &
Swallowing Therapy
Communication and swallowing are often the last things people expect to be affected by rehab, and they can touch everything from ordering at a restaurant to feeling safe at the dinner table. Our speech-language pathologists work with patients on speech, language, memory, and thinking skills, and on safe, comfortable swallowing after a stroke, brain injury, or surgery.
Sessions are one-on-one and start with an evaluation to understand exactly what’s affected, whether that’s word-finding, clarity of speech, or swallowing certain textures safely. From there, the therapist builds a plan around specific goals, from communicating with family to returning to a full diet.
